Snow Maiden (also known as Snowgirl and Snegourochka (in Russian)) is traditionally considered as Ded Moroz's (Russian analog of Santa Claus) granddaughter. Like her grandfather she is one of main personalizations of New Year and Christmas celebration who helps Ded Moroz and often appears with him.
